Introducing Biopolymer-Soil-Water-Characteristic (BSWC) at Pan-Am UNSAT2017
Dr. Ilhan Chang has introduced the basic concept and hypotheses on the Biopolymer-Soil-Water-Characteristic-Curves (BSWCC) during the 2nd Pan American Conference on Unsaturated Soils (PanAm-UNSAT 2017) held in Dallas, Texas, November 12~15, 2017.
He presented "Upward wetting behavior of unsaturated xanthan gum biopolymer-treated sand" including recent experimental updates showing the wetting behavior and capillary conductivity of xanthan gum biopolymer-treated soils to be controled with hydrophillic adsorption, hydrogel swelling, pore clogging, and diffusion processes. The audience showed high interest on the new BSWC concept, with heat discussions after the session.
The E3GEO group will proceed further and present more in the next up-coming conference!
